EarthCam Premieres the World's First AI Material Analysis for Construction Cameras Automated identification & reporting on 30+ jobsite materials & work-in-place progress FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New York, November 21, 2024 -- EarthCam, the leader in live camera technology, content, and services, today at the Procore Groundbreak industry conference, announced AI Material Analysis. This unique new service is the first to combine real-time jobsite cameras with a specialized machine-learning model to identify, highlight and indicate the spatial configuration of materials within the environment. Materials are annotated, and work-in-place verification is automatically added to project management dashboards. EarthCam AI Material Analysis currently identifies 34 different types of construction materials in real time. From metal studs and insulation to plywood and drywall, materials are automatically detected, compared to scheduled tasks, added in a visual record to daily reports, and reported via alerts including the Procore Daily Log. The new AI Material Analysis will update the Delivery Log when specific materials arrive on-site, then report when those materials are being installed. Significant benefits include better readiness, reduced waste, and increased efficiency for subcontractors to coordinate tasks. For example, once HVAC ducts are detected in place, the ceiling grid installers can begin work. "EarthCam’s innovative Material Analysis has streamlined our project management. Being able to instantly verify material deliveries and key milestones has not only saved us time but helped improve overall project outcomes," said Khidir Abdalla, SVP of Construction, Equinox Group. “The real-time video feed and time-lapse features give us unparalleled insight into project progress, helping us stay on schedule and identify potential issues early on. Easy to install and operate, this system is an essential tool for ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality on the job. We couldn't be more impressed with its performance.” AI Material Analysis is the latest in EarthCam’s suite of AI object detections, which include workers at height, PPE identification, and proximity of workers around energized equipment, designed to help maximize productivity and safety. “EarthCam’s AI Material Analysis is a genuine leap forward in our ability to harness computer vision to solve complex problems,” said Brian Cury, CEO and Founder of EarthCam. “Years in the making, and trained on millions of real-world construction images, this technology gives our clients the edge – helping them to shorten project timelines, tighten up schedules and save money.” EarthCam’s Control Center continues to be the software of choice for project documentation, promotion, safety, and jobsite security. EarthCam provides camera rentals, professional installation and reality capture services to make construction management more efficient with powerful visual data.
