EarthCam Introduces Photography Documentation Services for the Construction Industry

New Technology Integrates Smartphone Pictures and Gigapixel Imagery Into Site Plans

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, October 22, 2012 -- EarthCam, the innovators in construction camera technology, brings another product to market with construction photography documentation for interior, exterior and foundation imaging – providing construction professionals with an indisputable record of pre-existing and as-built conditions. EarthCam will debut the new services at the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) National Conference and Trade Show in Chicago, today.

EarthCam's new imaging service is an interactive visual record of an entire construction project, inside and out. Utilizing this service, users have the ability to upload high resolution inspection-grade, geotagged images from any jobsite to building plans, engineering and architectural drawings. The photos are indexed by date, time, staff, trade, location and keyword tags. Using a special image comparison tool, users can view various images captured from the same vantage point over time and compare two specific images to identify areas of concern and analyze differences. This unique feature allows users to virtually peel the walls back to inspect work and verify compliance.

Users have a do-it-yourself option using EarthCam's iPhone/iPad app or may commission EarthCam's network of photographers to provide a professional end-to-end solution. From any jobsite, project managers and engineers can take an instant snapshot from their smartphone, add dictations then upload it to EarthCam's servers, where it will be integrated with weather data into their site plans. EarthCam's network of local photographers are knowledgeable in both the latest camera technology and the construction industry. EarthCam will schedule site visits to capture detailed photos, using best practices to document progress at important milestones, such as prior to concrete pours, electrical inspections and before the walls are closed up.

The new photography documentation services are perfectly suited for the construction industry and complement EarthCam's existing line of webcams for exterior documentation. Project managers will benefit from photos captured against key milestones, with the ability to share these images with all team members for unified communications. Interior photo documentation offers a complete visual record of the construction progress and may be used for disputing claims, as well as an ongoing tool for maintenance teams.

In addition, EarthCam will be demonstrating their new GigapixelCam at CMAA (Exhibit #715). The revolutionary system is the world's first automated outdoor gigapixel webcam, capable of generating impressive 1 billion pixel panoramas. These super high resolution images are captured over the life of a project, may be included into project site plans and are edited into a theatrical-quality time-lapse movie. Showcasing the most impressive views of any construction process, time-lapse movies serve as the perfect way for companies to promote their projects.
